The newest addition to my "library" is Flowers and Flower Lore, by Rev. Hilderic Friend. Published in 1884, it has over 700 pages of flower history, legends, and poetry! Needless to say, I can hardly bear to put it down, which makes a couple of kittens rather jealous! So Nastya decided to make me stop reading for a while and I guess she succeeded very well! 😃 There's something about a kitten's eyes that I just can't resist...and they know it too! 😊

It must be a cat thing. 😁 This morning she tried get me to stop writing, first by rubbing against me affectionately and purring, but when I didn't stop right away (hey, I had to get that envelope addressed!!) she resorted to grabbing my arm with claws and teeth! Thankfully I wear a few layers of clothing this time of year so it didn't hurt too much! And when I just opened up that book again she came over and sat on it! I love her so much. 😊

Ha! This reminds me of our late cat Phoebe. When Judy and I strolled the garden to inspect the plants, Phoebe would always install herself in front of whatever we were looking at, because surely we meant to be looking at her! The other thing she used to do when we weren't giving her proper attention is knock little things off the shelves and mantel, then stare at us to see if we noticed.
