In a Vase on Monday: Autumn

As winter approaches, I have to look more carefully to find beauty in my garden, and also for something to put in a vase! I wasn't sure how this one would turn out, but I think it nicely reflects the wild, rugged beauty of the landscape this time of year.

The red leaves come from a Bridal Wreath spirea bush in the front yard. It has lovely fragrant white flowers in late spring, and I even found a few late blooms today!

Thanks to Helen at Toronto Gardens for encouraging me to use mountain ash berries in my arrangement!

Thanks for stopping by! You can see what others have found to put in a vase today at Rambling in the Garden.  Have a great week!

This really celebrates the colours of a late autumn garden, doesn't it? Thanks for sharing

What a beautiful fall garden of leaves and berries, and perfectly replicated in your vase. Lovely....

Your arrangement speaks eloquently of autumn - lovely! Did you get a lot of rain? We got 5"!

Oh wow, that is a lot of rain! We only got about half an inch yesterday and it was quite windy.

A beautiful autumn feel. The leaves are such a lovely colour and the berries are a perfect touch. It's good to embrace autumn.

If I had fall foliage that beautiful (or heck, any foliage that wasn't plain old green or brown) I'd use it every week!

Most of our foliage is gone now, but it was beutiufl while it lasted. :) Around here we get tired of looking at white all winter!

Very nice color! I like the berries, too. I kind of wish I had a mountain ash.

The spirea bush it very colorful! Mountain ash is a beautiful tree. The one in our yard has already dropped most of its berries, but I've seen some in the woods that are still covered with them.

Lovely autumn in a vase - and the dark vase suits so well! I noticed my own spiraea's colour the other day, but never thought to use it in a vase! Thanks for sharing (and, like Jason, wish I had a mountain ash!)

Thank you Cathy! I might not have thought to use the spirea either, if it weren't for the shortage of flowers now!
