I robbed the Woods-- My sister was my partner in crime this time...so many pretty leaves to choose from! 😊 And does anyone know what the little green plant I'm holding is? It's a low-growing, creeping plant that grows in the woods. The seedpods are heart shaped and remind me of those on Shepherd's Purse. It presses beautifully!

Absolutely beautiful!!! Still 100% green where I live, which is unusual, but soon the beauty will come. Thanks for sharing your trees.

Fall has arrived! I love the bright blazes of swamp maples against the fir trees in your first photo. Ours are just starting to turn, along with the birches. When the sun shines, they are like stained glass. Do you press leaves between waxed paper to hang in the window? I haven't done it in a few years, but it is fun to do and look at. Your mystery plant is Veronica officinalis, a speedwell from Europe, naturalized here. Enjoy the warm fall days ahead!

Thank you for identifying yet another plant for me-- I dream of being as knowledgeable about plants as you are, some day! 😊Now I can properly label it in my herbarium!

You arrange the leaves between two sheets of waxed paper and with the iron on lowest setting, press the edges and between leaves. Avoid touching leaves if you can, as it can burn them, turning them brown. Hanging in the window, the light shines through them - lovely!
